Sudden rainstorm,

for a short time

the world seems

to stop

there is a brief,

 but gentle ease and peace

in the relative stillness.

….after the storm

raindrops drip down

finding the way

to the trees, leaves, and flowers

eventually

puddled on the ground

while far up and above

birds again begin to chirp their songs

beauteous odes to nature

almost as announcements

….then

 the storm clouds depart

the sun, in all it’s  brilliance

shines once again

…..everything resumes

seemingly

not at all

having lost a single step

English: Bearing the cold Two forlorn and snow-covered teddy bears sit on top of a fence at the edge of Elmstead Woods. Were they abandoned by uncaring owners, or are they waiting for the weather to improve for a picnic? (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Poetic Fragments

Sometimes

 new opportunites arise

when doors close on others

new chances, new starts

brand new opportunities

there for the taking

Reach……

Poetic Fragments

Catching a glimpse

over a hundred year span

those who have experienced much,

willing to impart thoughts and wisdoms

with those who have only to come

bringing a willingness, open ears, hearts,

 and minds

oral traditions continued…….

Scattered to the four winds

friendships rekindled….

some things are not meant to be left alone, or broken apart

slowly picking up the pieces of yesterday …and laughing heartily

damn the hairlines that have retreated

hair and beards have much more gray, white, and silver

inside, youth will not be denied

apple-tossing rabble-rousers of yesterday live on

subdued in this latter day and age.

Dad

Memories,

Thankfully not fading at all with time

How quickly,

the years had already gone by

Since your passing

I’m finding that we were much more alike than I once might have admitted to…..

Life does make some things painfully apparent

thankfully

We both made our peace, so many years ago

Big enough, to bury hatchets

Things, differences, and People

 of a much different time

so long ago

You are  loved, never to be forgotten
