grim expressions
and dark clothes
tears brushed away
in secret
burial of body….
memories burning forward
faraway eyes
only where
thoughts are revealed
of many places
of many things
countless…..
for each
so many possibly intertwined pasts
earliest childhood to adulthood
not one
seemed to mind
the empty seat

without sentiment
the raging
of internal fires
Oh, to hear the echoes
of just how
dark emptiness…actually sounds
desperate reaching
only to always
fall just short…
attempting
to
fill the void
left
from/by
damaged yesterdays
interrupted dreams
warped reality
hurtful memories
hurt, where love once should….
…could
might…
have been
damning realization
cutting into now…of this moment
I
see the darkness
far deep
beyond your eyes
I
sense the void
where your heart….
once was
and
all is explained

teased by brilliant sunlight

soon, both gray skies and a chilling wind will beckon forth

gentle breeze over the waves

while the frozen seizing of the lands eventually comes

fallen leaves in varying hues, burnt orange and brilliant reds
