Outside this park
let
this world
continue
to
rage and broil
in a poisonous
stew
of
hate and indifference
for now
I
would
rather
wander
this tiny
parcel of land
this place,
of serenity……
of peace……
of sanity……

Scurrying
of chipmunks
along
these park grounds
squirrels play
endless games
chasing
up and down
these
fully leafed
trees
that tower
ever so gently
above
but not quite
yet
tickling puffy clouds
somewhere,
in the distance
birds serenade
different
tweets and peeps
nature’s song
combined
in this wild
cacophony
I humbly offer
blessings and prayers
my own voice
a smile
as my eyes
gradually
trained
upwards
this sun kissed
morning
