Bits and Strands

Bits and Strands

These

cold winter months

we walked these streets

while the winter sun

still warmed our backs

as we bravely

faced midnight

while many dreams

never have come true

we still searched..in vain

for those retrospective

parts

stubbornly young

but

in chasing

a fountain of youth

a litany of fortunes,

foibles…. fables

tales

that only lead

to more woe

inevitably

as the mourners continued

to fill

these empty spaces

rows of seats

…this modern day

den of inequity

lines of

sullied consciences

their blackened souls

the

concrete roads

that still await

our footprints

counting the discarded

flower blossoms

…yesterdays glories

we’ll search tomorrow

and tomorrow’s tomorrow

with life as a Blake’s hitch

while

infinity’s grip

continues to tighten

all the while

with our dead man

smiles

greeting the foolish scrounger

welcome!

you are free

to reach

for this

bit

of

corroding

bit of hope

promises…..further…..

ever

decaying

their messages…necrotic flesh

the

mixed signals

gradually

narrow

this being

just what an empty reflection

resembles

while

other

echoes….voicings

fall further and further….further…..further

back and into the shadows

till there is

….no light

….no spark

  1. There are two halves
    Two hemispheres
    Two trains
    One arriving
    One departing
    We belong to both
    Twin journeys
    Forever ending
    Forever starting

  2. I love this and thank you for all the likes. I hope to offer discounts soon if I am able to figure that out. I would love to give you one if you are interested.
