A Moment’s Kiss
Hesitation’s pause
seconds
like longest hours
chances
there for the taking
but for an ever twirling dance
…uncertainty’s cold paralysis
indecision
lost moments
…ticking off
never once halted
time’s staid guardianship
alas,
the plane of indecision is broken
this, the first of many
stolen moments

Chasm
praying
for eyesight to the blind
and
already wounded
so far down
on their luck…circumstances
but robbed
right
before
own……all…… of our eyes
gone well before
most would even
thought
to have looked
deadened hearing
for ears………already trained
not to hear…wanting to hear
voices
calling……pleading……wanting…..needing
eyes only trained
not to see……..the pained
selves
conditioned…..hardened…..desensitized
no longer……able? wanting?
or……simply care
empathy
imperceptible…….invisible
conspicuously silent
silenced?
modern day……. robber barons
thieves
ever quick to blame
pointing……away from
themselves
heaping scorn
upon
poor…….destitute
stealing……..lining pockets
but….
how long?
till the many……faces
of poverty
hellbent
on vengeance
burning holes
in thoughts…..pained memories
will
eventually
show no quarter
can there then be any evidence, any hinted whisper of mercy expected?
suppressed
so far down
into the depths
only
giving back
what they were always…
