Hope(Chant Poem)

With only hope to pierce this darkness

out of places, out of time… run away

with only hope to pierce the darkness

fight or flight, with backs up against the wall

with only hope to pierce the darkness

lone dissenting voices, lost in a vacuum

with only hope to pierce the darkness

a battle against indifference, ignorance, hate, and envy

with only hope to pierce the darkness

words, thoughts, and philosophies

with only hope to pierce the darkness

an impassioned plea, to open ears and minds

with only hope to pierce the darkness

despite the flurry of bad jokes.

Men still guilty of being boys.

At the table, a smooth  mixing and melding of times past and present.

A sharing of smiles and experiences.

on such a gray and stormy morning.

much else mattered

mother’s day

Hurry, hurry, ever racing to a never ending finish line.

Another moment of another day….the years silently pass by.

Missed, was the grandeur of countless sunrises and sunsets, in the quest for green.

The ratrace claims another…and another…and another.
