Bright little petals
all reaching out to blue sky
tomorrow’s promise

Church bells rang on…on
somber faced patrons marching
when’s the funeral?

Yesterday’s soldier
sky, moon, stars, and clouds above
this bench, his abode
when can he ever know peace?
when can his dreams be silenced?

Bumping into friends
No longer cyber figments
…..a real voice….gasp!

Those eyes, those hardships
roads wind hither and tither
lonely the miles…..his shoes

This summer morning
sunshine
birdsongs
a book of Basho, Issa, and Buson!
I smile

Buzzing dragonflies
such circuitous pathways!
this Sunday morning

Up high, a stone perch
yet another dragonfly
mute acknowledgment

Unseen scamperings
this stone perch above the park
Ahhhhhh, chipmunk!

her smile brightens
perhaps a love note?
