night comes all too soon
summer’s warm embrace lessens
dark enveloping

Anymore
When?
How?
did we learn….CHOOSE
no longer
seeing, looking, hearing, considering, thinking
beyond
SELVES…US…ALL
closed off,
or Illusion of….
safe and hopelessly, helpless, hapless
INSULATED
behind
our own
FORTRESSES
with the tallest walls
thick and Full of
Politics, Religiosity, Prejudices, Intolerance
FEARS
HATE

The Emptied Tree
Time Escapes
Dulled Whimsies
are
All that Remain.
Lingerings of
Cold Sensation
But What is Left?
But For
a Plethora
Empty Platitudes
Left to Ring
…Ears to Mind
Gradually Built
Over Time
To become
a Frenzied Crescendo
Alas,
For the Rolling of Endless Skies
Of the
Longest
Grayed Season
Matching
Perfectly

Jagged Cold Winds
Ever Wildly Galloping
Under Canopy
of
Gray Skies
Readying for
Winter’s Frigid Embrace
As Seasons Change
Such
The Wicked Immediacy
Frailties
Of Turning Colours
of Autumn
Rudely Ushered Out
For Snows and Cold
that
Prepare to Cover
Earth
In Preperation
for
Her Slumber
and
Eventual Renewal
And Promise
Awaiting
Kiss of Spring
